CBLR2-HD

FlipTop™ Cable Retractor, HDMI® to HDMI Cable

Discontinued

This product has been discontinued. Please contact Crestron True Blue Support at 1-888-CRESTRON for a replacement solution or more information.

Cable retractor for Crestron® FlipTop™ cable management systems.

Photo shows model CBLR2-HD in horizontal orientation.

Crestron® Cable Retractors offer a refined solution for Crestron FlipTop™ cable management systems. Each cable pulls out smoothly to a length of 3 f t (0.9 m ) and latches in position. A second pull of the cable releases the latch and retracts the cable back into the compartment.

Each Crestron Cable Retractor features a patented mechanism that dampens the rate of retraction to prevent the cable from whipping as it pulls back into the FlipTop storage compartment. The retraction speed is installer adjustable to ensure full and effortless retraction without excessive force.

Up to three, four, or six cable retractors may be installed depending on the FlipTop model . Spacer inserts are available to fill any unused cable retractor slots.1

Cable retractors may be mounted vertically or horizontally . In the vertical position, the retractors hang straight down from the bottom of the FlipTop box allowing them to be hidden in a pedestal leg or similar space directly beneath the FlipTop. When positioned horizontally, the retractors project to the sides or front of the FlipTop, eliminating any obstruction near the floor.

A 7 f t (2.1 m ) long tail is provided at the back-end of each cable retractor beneath the tabletop. This tail may be plugged into a wall plate or floor box, or connected to a DigitalMedia™ transmitter or similar interface device mounted under the table.

Several models of cable retractors are offered to support HDMI®3, DisplayPort™2, VGA, stereo audio, USB, and CAT5e connectivity. The CAT5e model is suitable for Ethernet, HDBaseT®, and DigitalMedia 8G+® applications.

CBLR2 series cable retractors may be installed in place of, or in combination with, existing 1st generation CBLR series cable retractors.3

To configure a complete 600 Series FlipTop with your choice of finishes, cables, cable retractors, connector plates, and power outlets, use the online Crestron FlipTops Configuration Tool.

Key Features
  • Connectivity for FlipTops™ cable management systems
  • Keeps interface cables at-the-ready
  • Eliminates hanging cable loops beneath the table
  • Cable pulls out smoothly to a length of 3 ft ( 0.9 m), and retracts by simply lifting it vertically above the table
  • Provides a 7 ft (2.1m) long tail below the table
  • Patented mechanism prevents cables from whipping while retracting
  • Models support HDMI® 2 , DisplayPort™ , VGA, stereo audio, USB, Ethernet, HDBaseT®, and DigitalMedia 8G+® connectivity
  • Vertical and horizontal mounting options accommodate most tabletop applications
  1. When installing fewer than the maximum quantity of cable retractors, a spacer insert is required to fill each unused cable retractor slot. For FlipTop 600 Series, use the FTA‑CBLRA‑INSERT‑2WIRE‑102. For all other FlipTops, use the CBLRA‑INSERT‑2WIRE or CBLRA‑INSERT‑BLANK. All spacer inserts are sold separately.
  2. The CBLR2‑HD model features active electronics and is designed for use as an input only. The source device must be connected to the pull-out end, and the sink device (e.g., the input of a display, monitor, transmitter, switcher, etc.) must be connected to the back end (labeled “TV” on the connector). The CBLR2‑HD has a minimum TMDS bandwidth of 10.2 Gbps and is capable of passing video signals up to 4K60 4:2:0 and 4K30 4:4:4 maximum.
  3. CBLR2 series cable retractors may be installed in place of, or in combination with, existing 1st generation CBLR series cable retractors, bearing in mind the following factors:
      a. The CBLR and CBLR2 series retractors have different latching and retraction mechanisms. Combining the different series within a single FlipTop housing may complicate end-user operation.
      b. For vertical installation, the CBLR2 series requires approximately 2 in. (50 mm) more vertical clearance below the mounting surface than the CBLR series.
      c. or horizontal installation, the CBLR2 series requires approximately 1.5 in. (38 mm) more horizontal clearance than the CBLR series. Please note that additional knee clearance may be required.
      d. For horizontal installations, the existing CBLRA‑BRKT‑H bracket may need to be repositioned.  The CBLRA‑BRKT‑H must be offset to one side of the existing CBLR retractors to allow clearance for the new CBLR2 retractors, which do not utilize the bracket themselves.
  4. Item(s) sold separately.
