Jun 17, 2015
New DGE-100 and DM-DGE-200-C provide powerful, low-cost room box solution with streaming video, on-screen display, and enterprise management
The new Crestron Digital Graphics Engine 200 (DM-DGE-200-C) and Digital Graphics Engine 100 (DGE-100) hit the sweet spot for those looking for a low-cost, easy to deploy multi-format video processor for huddle spaces and small meeting rooms. Both products offer high-performance streaming, HDMI® connectivity, display control, and seamless integration with Crestron Fusion® enterprise management software via a LAN port for room monitoring, management, and scheduling. The DM-DGE-200-C adds support for long-distance wired presentation via HDBaseT®.
Both the DM-DGE-200-C and DGE-100 also provide the ability to create customized on-screen graphics and messaging using the in-room display, thereby creating a more engaging meeting room experience. All this power is contained in a small package that installs neatly behind the room display. Crestron is demonstrating the new products at booth 2801 at InfoComm15 in Orlando, June 17 – 19.
“It’s our most powerful and flexible room box solution yet,” said Byron Wendling, Technology Manager, Touch Screens & User Interfaces at Crestron. “It has everything you need in a small, affordable package. It’s ready to go, right out of the box, or you can customize or brand your meeting experience.”
Support for BYOD, 4K, and streaming
The DM-DGE-200-C and DGE-100 both feature HDMI® input and output, including CEC management, enabling easy integration with Crestron AirMedia™ (AM-100) for wireless presentation capability from smart devices. High-performance H.264 video is delivered through the LAN port, enabling content to be streamed to the DGE in the room. Both models also offer IR and Serial ports for control.
The DM-DGE-200-C adds a DM® input for HDBaseT signals from a DM transmitter at the far end of a conference table or from a DM switcher in a rack, enabling full support of 4K/60 sources. The DM-DGE-200-C outputs 4K HDMI® to a 4K display for the most striking presentation experience, or downscales to a 2K display. For smaller rooms or huddle spaces that don’t require DM input, the DGE-100 is the perfect solution.
Helpful on-screen messaging keeps meetings on-track
Connecting the DM-DGE-200-C or DGE-100 to Crestron Fusion unlocks powerful built-in capabilities that require no programming whatsoever. Whenever there’s a scheduled meeting attendees can enter the room to a helpful personalized welcome message with meeting details. This provides confirmation that they’re in the right room at the right time. Simple instructions on how to start a meeting can also be displayed for the convenience of meeting participants, along with a corporate logo or other graphic for branding purposes. Once the presentation begins, the content will automatically be displayed on-screen along with helpful but unobtrusive meeting progress updates that help keep things on track.
Monitor and manage the enterprise
IT managers can use Crestron Fusion to streamline help desk operations and perform preemptive maintenance on every AV device in the room, ensuring maximum uptime and productivity. Crestron Fusion also provides valuable analytics and reporting of real-time and historical energy usage, enabling organizations to make intelligent and informed energy saving decisions.
Enhanced graphics engine
Replacing the Crestron DGE-1 and DGE-2, the DGE-100 and DM-DGE-200-C can also be used to bring enhanced touch screen graphics and HD video processing to the Crestron V-Panel™ 20" HD Touch Screen Display (TSD-2020), delivering a truly immersive user experience. Via their USB ports, and with the addition of a mountable touch screen overlay, both products can even be used to convert the room display into a huge touch screen.
Easy installation, convenient location
Compact in size, the DM-DGE-200-C and DGE-100 can be surface-mounted anywhere in the room that’s convenient, even behind the room display. For applications requiring a TSD-2020 Touch Display, both models can be mounted inside a specially designed optional Wall Mount Kit and Back Box (TSD-2020-WMK-BB), which allows the TSD-2020 to be mounted cleanly on the wall with no visible plugs or wires.
